In order to determine which ones were the unfortunate towns that could be considered for this ranking, it was taken into account the information from the Census data from the 2010-2014 American Community Survey.

After looking and analyzing the specific data in the following aspects: population density, highest unemployment rates and poverty level, it was possible to rank the 15 worst small towns in GA.

15. Americus

Population: 16,557
Poverty Level: 33.2%
Unemployment Rate: 19.9%

The ranking of the poorest cities in Georgia start with Americus. According to the most recent census the median income for a household in the city is $26,808, and the median income for a family is $32,132.
The per capita income for the city is $14,168. About 23.4% of families and 27.7% of the population are just below the poverty line.
